  • Keeping your cool and reassuring us during tough times
  • Coaching us to perform better
  • Providing a sense of direction and purpose
  • Helping us learn from our mistakes
  • The kick in the butt and the pat on the back when needed
  • Listening
  • Having our backs when the pressure was on
  • Stretching us to achieve things we didn’t think we could do
  • Having a sense of humor
  • Providing the support and resources we need to get the job done
  • Giving us the elbow room to make decisions and act
  • All the other things you do to make this a great job and a great team
  • And, of course, being a caring spouse, partner, parent, and friend

Action Steps:

 The world needs more good leaders.

  • So, continue to grow personally.
  • Strengthen and support your people. 
  • Keep doing what you are doing – and do it better.
